Sew Fruity for June

June brought about the Instagram challenge of 'Sew Fruity' so I thought I would share what I made!

These are not new patterns but they are new makes so I figured the fabric was worth a post :)

First up was a Myosotis Dress in some absolutely glorious dead-stock Dolce & Gabanna silk (oh my...) from Selvedge and Bolts. I was so lucky to get a piece of this as it was incredibly reasonable in price and did not hang around on the site very long.

I didn't have enough to do the lower ruffle of the dress so had to go with a short version. Here it is featuring little Esther tortoise!

I have never really worn silk but my goodness it feels great. I took this on a recent holiday and it was beautifully cool in the heat. When I got back I spotted similar on Amanda Holden and Alan Carr - good enough for those guys!

The Mysosotis is a class act of a dress and I had forgotten how much I loved it. Definitely will be bringing that pattern back out to play again.

My second 'Sew Fruity' entry was an absolutely barmy pair of trousers.

Inspired by my garden again I 'painted' some tomatoes on my iPad and decided it would make a great fabric print. (Look at those cute earrings too!)

Enter the Pomodoro Pants.
Well, they are really the old faithful Fifi Pants by Style Arc but I like my name for them better. I did my usual hack of doing a one piece waistband, went for full elastic all round on these and added a drawstring for that summer trouser vibe.

I loved seeing what everyone had made for this challenge - if you haven't had a look go view the hashtag #sewfruity25 on Instagram.

Did you make anything for Sew Fruity this year?  😊

Wishing everyone well and thank you for stopping by - feel free to comment and come and say hello on InstagramFacebookPinterest and Bloglovin too xxx
